Conner Hunts

The location of our hunting ranch is in Collingsworth County Texas, approximately 20 miles north of Wellington, or 15 miles south of Shamrock. We have a wide range of hunting for Whitetail Deer, Turkey, Quail, Dove and Predators. Most deer hunts will be out of box blinds, tripods, or tree stands. Most of the blinds overlook feeders, food plots that are planted only for wildlife(not cattle), or large canyons that the deer travel to get to those areas. In most hunting areas you will have plenty of cover in the mesquite trees. We are currently feeding Antlermax 22% protien out of gravity feeders. Almost all of the food plots contain alfalfa, peanuts, milo, or some other type of protien supplement. But before winter there will be some wheat plots to go right along with the other plots.

In 2007, we saw a huge improvement in the deer numbers, we had a very large amount of bucks this year. Somehow mutiple shooter bucks managed to make it through the year without even having a shot fired at them. This is why I am very confident that the 2008 deer season is going to be a very big success.

In 2008, we only harvested 2 8-pointers and we took out a few does. We started feeding antlermax 22% protien feed out of gravity feeders in the spring. We saw many deer that had grown from the years past but could not mange to be in the right place at the right time.
